Charles Wright graduated from Indiana University with degrees in political science and business before attending University of Toronto law school. Charles began working at Canadian law firm Siskinds LLP immediately upon graduation and helped the firm develop what is recognized as one of Canada's top plaintiff class action firms.
Charles has been engaged as a leading counsel on cases in a wide variety of subject areas that have resulted in over one hundred class action settlements. Primary areas of practice over the years have been securities (including the Sino Forest and SNC Lavalin cases), competition law (including the LCD, vitamins, autoparts, and foreign exchange cases), consumer rights (including the VW emissions case), and medical products (including the transvaginal mesh cases). These accomplishments have resulted in recognition by many publications. Charles is recognized as one of three Tier 1 plaintiff class action practitioners by Chambers Partners, and Siskinds is recognized as one of two Tier 1 Canadian firms in the plaintiff class action area.
Charles is a regular speaker at national and international conferences. He previously taught class actions at Western law school, and is the co-author of Class Actions Law and Practice (Butterworths, 1999).
While at Indiana Charles competed in intercollegiate tennis, and continues to compete in international tennis events. When he can put his competitive streak aside, he enjoys family doubles with his wife and two daughters.
